Project background

Chevron has plans to build a blue hydrogen and ammonia plant in Port Arthur, Texas. The development is known as Project Labrador, a natural gas-fueled hydrogen production facility that will utilize natural gas as feedstock, along with carbon capture and storage technology, to capture at least 95% of carbon dioxide emissions. The project is expected to produce up to 255,500 tonnes of clean hydrogen per year, which could be converted to 1,460,000 tonnes of low-carbon ammonia per year.
